The Lancaster City School District met 22 of 26 statewide indicators for achievement for the 2010-2011 school year according to data released by the Ohio Department of Education on August 24, 2011. The school district also met Value Added and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
In addition to the district achieving the “Excellent” rating, several other schools have been honored with the designation. For the first time in both General Sherman and East Elementary schools achieved the highest rating possible, “Excellent with Distinction.” Lancaster High School and Tarhe Elementary were also honored with “Excellent” ratings.
