Lancaster City Schools Invites Nominations for the

Lancaster High School Hall of Fame

LANCASTER, Ohio – Lancaster City Schools is currently accepting nominations for induction into the Lancaster High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.  The district invites you to carefully consider and thoughtfully suggest graduates whose accomplishments deserve distinction through an online form.

Lancaster High School has successfully established a long-standing tradition of academic and athletic excellence,” said LCS Superintendent, Steve Wigton. “Many graduates who distinguish themselves in the classrooms and in athletic or scholastic competition continue to distinguish themselves after graduation.”

To be eligible for nomination, an individual must have graduated at least five years ago and since, made a contribution to a professional industry, community or society significant enough in its positive impact to inspire others. Typical nominees have garnered some level of renown for advancing education, science, medicine, arts, education, athletics, government or public service. LCS requests that nominators include evidence of their suggestion’s superior influence, such as case-supporting accolades or newspaper articles.

“Members of the LHS Hall of Fame transcend a diverse collection of interests, industries and positions,” said Wigton. “We want to acknowledge the excellence an LHS education can foster, award due merit and encourage the inspiration that results in our classrooms.”

The Hall of Fame has honored 68 inductees over the last 26 years, including two CEO’s of major American corporations, four outstanding and nationally recognized physicians, a former Congressman, a nationally recognized physicist in the field of plasma physics and the designer of the current American flag.
