Athletic Wall of Honor Induction - January 17, 2020
The Lancaster High School Athletic Department will be inducting 10 new members into the Athletic Wall of Honor on Friday, January 17th in conjunction with a varsity boys’ basketball contest. In addition to the inductions, the Wall of Honor will be dedicated as the Gary Mauller Lancaster High School Athletic Wall of Honor. Gary Mauller was an educator for the Lancaster City Schools for 47 years, serving as its athletic director from 1989 to 1996. Gary always believed it was important to honor tradition and recognize outstanding effort by our athletes (and coaches) who achieved high honors while attending LHS and as they continued collegiately and professionally. Gary began hanging pictures on the wall of the GAC corridor during his tenure as AD. Upon Gary’s passing in April of 2017, donations made in Gary’s memory have made it possible to continue his mission of recognizing Lancaster High School’s athletic tradition. This year’s inductees include: Bob Reall – Cross Country Coach from 1963 to 1991, Rod Ishida – Tennis Coach from 1972-1998 and 2003 – 2008, Paul Callahan – Class of 1966, Pamela (Haley) Bosser – Class of 1985, Bobby Carpenter – Class of 2002, Jessie Hampson – Class of 2003, George Carpenter – Class of 2007, Nathan Carpenter – Class of 2010, Chris DePietro – Class of 2012, Jacob Spearman – Class of 2012.
The dedication and induction ceremonies will take place on Friday, January 17th in the Lancaster High School gymnasium at 7:00pm. An informal ‘meet and greet’ starting at 6:00pm will be held in the LHS cafeteria prior to the event. Public is welcome (admission to basketball game $7.00 adults, $5.00 students) (see program below).
