Art Department Mission Statement

The Lancaster City Schools (LCS) Art Department mission is to facilitate a learning environment in which students observe, appreciate, depict, and interpret their surroundings through the study of Visual Art, thereby, establishing literacy through visual means.  Additionally, the LCS Art Department recognizes the importance of cross-curricular lesson planning and implementation with consideration for differentiating to meet the needs of all students.  Aspiring artist are encouraged toward success as outlined in the Ohio Visual Arts Standards.
