Bullying Preventative Program(s)
Lancaster City Schools implements the Second Step program, an award-winning violence-prevention and social-emotional learning curriculum. Second Step provides students from preschool through Grade 12 with structured lessons that build essential skills such as empathy, emotion management, problem-solving, and cooperation. By strengthening these foundational abilities, the program supports students’ success in the classroom, on the playground, and at home. More information is available at:  https://www.secondstep.org/

Lancaster City Schools have adopted a comprehensive curriculum to educate students about internet safety and cyberbullying. Elementary students receive instruction through Common Sense Media’s digital citizenship curriculum, available at:  http://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/curriculum

At the secondary level, counselors incorporate the Second Step program and resources provided by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce to strengthen students’ understanding of safe and responsible online behavior.
