LHS Families,

We cannot thank you enough for all the help and support you provided for your students the last part of the school year under all of the uncertainty. Today, June 2nd, is the official last day of school. Here is some information needed for the close of the school year and as we officially move into the summer.

Grade Cards

Grade Cards will be printed and be mailed home as usual at the end of next week.

LHS Summer Hours

Lancaster High School will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00throughout June and July.

Summer School

Lancaster High School will be offering Summer School virtually that will run from Monday June 15th through Friday July 10th. Registration will be open this week and students needing summer school will be communicated with.

Address Change

If you have had a change of address during this school year, contact the office and you may leave it on a voicemail so we can mail items to the proper home address.

Summer Communication

We will be communicating information during the summer in the following ways......District Listserv Emails, LHS Facebook Page, LHS Website, and One Call Nows. Make sure you are signed up or follow one of the following to get information over the summer and regarding the 2020-2021 School Year.

Chromebooks

Students in grades 9-11 returning to LHS will be able to keep their Chromebooks over the summer. Students not returning to LHS will need to return their Chromebooks to LHS. Here are a couple of helpful tips to make sure your Chromebook is ready to go for next school year.....

  1. First, make sure the Chromebook is fully charged.
  2. Then, shut it down completely by holding down the power button until the screen goes dark. Closing the lid just puts it in "sleep mode" which will drain the battery completely in a week or less. Even when powered off the battery will partially discharge over summer but it will not be drained completely which can damage the battery.
  3. Store the Chromebook in its case (if provided) with the charger, in a safe place.  Do not leave it in a car or in direct sunlight, the extreme temperatures will damage the battery and possibly other components.

Following these easy tips will help to ensure your Chromebook will be ready for the next school year and you won't have to wait for it to be repaired before you can use it.

Thanks,

Mr. Burre
