Welcome to the Lancaster City Schools informational site on Bullying and Harassment.
"the district administration will semiannually provide the president of the district board a written summary of all reported incidents and post the summary on its web site, if the district has a web site, to the extent permitted by section 3319.321 of the Revised Code and the “Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974,” 88 Stat. 571, 20 U.S.C. 1232q, as amended." |

Bullying Preventative Program(s)
The Lancaster City Schools has instituted the Second Step program. The award-winning SECOND STEP violence prevention program integrates social and emotional learning with academics. Kids from preschool through Grade 8 learn and practice vital social skills, such as empathy, emotion management, problem solving, and cooperation. These essential life skills help students in the classroom, on the playground, and at home. More information can be found at this website: https://www.secondstep.org/
The Lancaster City Schools have adopted new curriculum to educate our students on Internet safety and cyberbullying. Our elementary students will receive instruction using Common Sense Media's curriculum which can be found here: http://www.commonsensemedia.org/educators/curriculum. Our secondary students will use some components of common sense media and district developed curriculum and videos. The school counselors will coordinate the instruction and activities.
